Did Chloé  just bring boho back after two decades? Yes they did! Bohomania  has returned thanks to Chloé's show at Paris Fashion Week 2024, the first show from Chloé's new creative director, Chemena Kamali. Kamali  wasn't afraid to go big on the boho with floaty blouses, ruffles, tan tones and suede. Wooden wedges lined the runway and Sienna Miller, famed for her boho festival fashion, was seated front row; as well as Georgia May Jagger.

Kamali  spoke about how the look was far from trivial, but it's more of a representation of freedom for women. She admitted that a characteristic that's 'very Chloé' is nostalgia, "looking at something that makes you feel something, but then taking the power of today and how we feel as women today." This is a message that encapsulates the essence of boho, where styles are rummaged from the past to create a new retro for the present day.

In fashion, boho has become over-saturated, commercial and overdone. Now enough time has passed, this has allowed designers and brands to experiment with the aesthetic in their own way. Unlike most trends that tend to be resurged from social media platforms, 'boho chic' was born from the runway. The newer boho chic is more pared back, mature and the styling is a lot simpler too. Kamali  shared "I think there's a longing for undone-ness, freedom, softness and movement. When you look in history, it's rooted in the 1970's." Fashion consumers crave a sense of freedom, which is a feeling embodied in boho fashion through it's dreamy, billowy silhouettes, playful embroideries and ornate accessories.
