Self- Portrait Fall 2022: Getting Ready to Dress Up and Go Out

Thankfully we haven’t said farewell to summer yet, however, Self-Portrait have got us covered for dressing up to go out-out in those dreaded chillier months. The ideal and most convenient aspect of going out-out in the summer is that you can get away with throwing on a slip dress and some heels and you’re good to go. In the autumn and winter it’s more of a challenge as there are more
components of the outfit that have to be considered so that you can keep warm but the look isn’t compromised.

Han Chong, the designer, explained that “this season the Self-Portrait girl is ready to start dressing up again and going out.” This collection reveals a range of evening-wear that is effortlessly elegant, comfortable and adaptable for the colder months. The collection is figure-hugging but the fabrics are thick and have stretch to accommodate movement and warmth, while the dresses and tops are made of a ribbed knit that have shaped bustier bodices to subtly accentuate the silhouette. The majority of the garments have integrated guipure lace panels, or are entirely composed of lace, which adds va-va-voom and contributes to the effortless elegance.

The throw-on convenience of summer fashion is replicated in this fall collection as Chong provides us with a variety of options; from textiles to co-ords. Chong refers to the importance of giving the “Self-Portrait woman” choices to suit every occasion from day to night. It’s the embellishments that elevate the garments such as the vintage bouclé buttons and flirty ruffles that help make the collection fun and ready to wear.
