Marfa Stance: Buildable Outerwear
Marfa Stance is a revolutionary outerwear brand, created by Georgia Dant in 2019. Georgia Dant previously worked in luxury womenswear and menswear brands such as, Burberry and Rag and Bone and she discovered that womenswear lacked functionality. Marfa Stance is an outerwear brand that is born from Dant's desire to amalgamate practicality and style in timeless pieces that can accommodate all occasions and weather conditions.
Marfa Stance sustainably sources fabrics from Italy and Japan, then tailored in family-run factories in Italy. The brand emphasises on the importance of longevity and the concept that customers can invest in signature garments that can be adapted over time for life, rather than replacing them. Dant saw a gap in the market for multi-functional luxury outerwear where she created a problem-solving modular coat that could be buildable "without looking like going up a mountain in The North Face.” Each piece can be adapted through the inner linings, hoods, collars, waterproof outers and comfortable quilting in the distinctive dusty desert tones; inspired by the landscape of Marfa-Texas.
Dant's love for minimalist and abstract art has been translated through her designs as she is inspired by the understated yet confident aesthetic, distilling ideas down to a simplicity and a form.
