Isabel Marant's Diffusion Line: Étoile – Bernard Boutique

Isabel Marant's Diffusion Line: Étoile

The French designer, Isabel Marant, knew from the age of ten that the conventional French fashion wasn't for her and so she decided to make her own clothes. Within her thirty-year career in fashion, Isabel Marant has built a recognisable brand. It's a well-loved brand as consumers appreciate how its orientated around ease, reality, comfort and elevation.

A portrait of Isabel Marant, by @matthieusalvaing.

"Étoile is the mainlines poor little sister but I love it and wear it all the time, with a nice pair of boots. It’s the easy part of the collection that I love to do." ~ Marant proclaims.

First debuted in 1999, Étoile is essentially the diffusion line that expresses the hybrid of relaxed tailoring with an androgynous and bohemian aesthetic. Marant provides "real clothes for real moments", so it's likely that Étoile is for the true Marant enthusiasts, as they know that certain pieces are likely to be there no matter what season it is.

The new collection is notably the epitome of what the autumnal season is about. You will find cosy oversized jackets, cool and edgy longline shapes, soft brushed felt decorated in graphic checks and a warm earthy-toned colour palette. What we love most about the new collection is that each piece compliments each other, which consequently makes autumnal layering easier. The perfectly neutral colour palette means that majority of the pieces from the collection can all be worn together. It's the ultimate ready-to-wear collection, why not get it all?
