Golden Goose, launched in 2000, is an Italian brand that focuses on the consumer and their lifestyle rather than mainstream fashion trends. The CEO, Silvio Campara, says that the shoes are made to make "everyone feel special!"  and two decades later they are still going strong. The brand has caused (and perhaps still causes) a controversy as people are sceptical about spending money on shoes that already look worn... HOWEVER, There's a whole lot of craftsmanship involved in their creation that makes them look distressed. The distressed appeal actually gives them that nonchalant 'knockabout' sense of cool that a pair of your ordinary trending trainers may not have. We all know that each outfit needs the right pair of shoes, and when you find them, they can change the whole vibe in an instant! If we take a look at the Golden Goose trainer styles, they are all individual in their own right. Despite the fact that there are few, there's an abundance of intriguing designs that are made with innovative materials, with it's Italian heritage at heart. Their entire ethos is revolved around creating a trainer with a narrative and implies the person wearing them is on the move and has been on adventures; with stories to tell. This person isn't too prestigious about getting their shoes weathered. And it's true, the more we care too much about the condition of our shoes while we're in the moment, we're either not fully immersed in the fun or we don't get the full wear out of our shoes. Which is a shame, if you have spent quite a few pounds on them! With Golden Goose, at least they're already made to look vintage and broken-in. In that sense, if you do happen to accidentally mark them, you won't notice and it will camouflage with the design.
