Vietnamese designer Chan Luu’s eponymous brand acquired a cult-following after her trend-setting designs were spotted on several Hollywood A-listers; everyone from Lady Gaga to Reese Witherspoon have indulged in her boho-luxe accessories. Using hand cut semi-precious stones, beads and coloured fresh water pearls, Chan Luu’s trademark is her ode to natural elements and organic forms. Each piece is handcrafted by a team of skilled artisans and epitomises uniqueness and authenticity, whether worn to a soirée or with jeans and a tee.

Chan Luu began making jewellery as a young girl in Vietnam, stringing together shells she collected on the beaches of her home town. Fast forward to today – after forging a career in fashion as a buyer and retailer – she founded her namesake brand, with a vision of quality design inspired by culture and travel.

Originally from Vietnam, Chan Luu moved to Boston and later, Los Angeles, to complete her degree in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Design in 1975. In 1982 she opened her first independent boutique and established her signature label in 1996 which creates a hybrid between ancient jewellery making techniques and modern designs. Chan Luu heralds inspiration from a unique combination of cultural elements and her contemporary Californian lifestyle. Each Chan Luu design incorporates organically inspired shapes with new and modern ideas to create a line that is fresh, unique and very wearable. In 2016 she passed the creative torch to her niece Tessa Tran, who continues the brand’s evolution as creative director.

Each Chan Luu piece is meticulously handcrafted with a “one of a kind” design from quality materials such as sterling silver, gold vermeil, leather, fresh water pearls and semi-precious stones to achieve the authentic, organic bohemian nature.

Chan Luu has graced the pages of numerous publications including Elle, InStyle and Vogue. Whether your vice is effortlessly cool or modern-bohemian, Chan Luu jewellery creates the perfect canvas to your own personal style.
